Nancy Pearcy’s first book, Total Truth is a standard text for anyone interested in the study of worldview. After reading it, I couldn’t help but buy her new volume, Saving Leonardo. Pearcey is a disciple of Francis Schaffer, so you know she’s building off a good foundation. I always find her work fascinating and faith-building, and this is no exception.
Saving Leonardo does a fine job of showing how worldview thinking impacts a wide variety of human activity but especially art, which is the best part of my worldview class. Pearcey demonstrates this through analyzing various forms of art, including: literature, film, paintings, theater, movies, etc. The book includes more than 100 pictures and reproductions of paintings, and provides a wonderful foundation for anyone concerned with how Christianity should interact with art.
Right now the book is on sale for Kindle for 2.69! Pick it up before the sale ends, which is anytime now (Amazon doesn’t always let us know when).
